RGV Takes on FWICE With a Fiery Tirade
Don 3 ka drama abhi thamne ka naam nahi le raha. What started as a casting clash has now turned into a full-blown industry showdown, and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has waded in with all guns blazing. The maverick director didn’t hold back as he slammed the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for issuing a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh.
Taking to X, RGV posted a lengthy note questioning the very authority of the body. “FWICE is neither a court of legal justice nor a government-authorised regulatory body, and at best it’s a kangaroo court,” he wrote. According to the filmmaker, the organisation pretends to deliver justice but disregards legal rules and due process. He even hinted that the verdict was pre-decided by a group with a specific agenda, including actors who are “scared shitless with the mega success of @RanveerOfficial in Dhurandhar.”
Varma’s takedown didn’t stop there. He argued that such actions won’t hold long-term significance and are merely an attempt by FWICE to cling to relevance in a rapidly changing industry landscape. Yaar, jab RGV kuch bolta hai, toh woh seedha dil pe lagta hai!
Ranveer Singh Still Has the Industry in His Pocket
Moving beyond the technicalities, RGV made it clear where he stands on Ranveer’s star power. According to the filmmaker, the entire mess should have been a private matter between Ranveer and the production house, not blown up into a circus. “Here we arrive at the main point that everyone in their heart knows including the disputing company, and for that matter even FWICE, that if @RanveerOfficial simply nods a yes, there will be a one kilometre long queue of producers outside his house tomorrow morning with cheques ready,” he posted.
That’s right — RGV believes Ranveer’s market value remains sky-high, and industry insiders secretly know it. The actor’s recent success with Dhurandhar has only solidified his position, and no amount of committee drama can change that. Aur yeh sab jhootha tamasha kyun? Because some people just can’t handle a star’s shine.
Stars Like Ranveer Singh Keep the Industry Alive
RGV also took a moment to school the federation on basic economics. In his view, actors like Ranveer Singh are the real pillars of the film business. “It is stars like @RanveerOfficial who sell tickets at the theatres and not FWICE. It is stars like @RanveerOfficial who create employment to those lakhs of FWICE workers and not FWICE. It is only because stars like @RanveerOfficial exist, that the industry exists, and also the FWICE exists,” he asserted.
The filmmaker’s point is blunt: without Ranveer and his ilk pulling crowds, there would be no work for anyone. So why put hurdles in front of your own breadwinner? RGV ended with some unsolicited advice: “Let’s not poke our unwanted noses into a civil dispute between 2 parties.” Khoon garam ho gaya, lekin baat toh sahi hai.
As the Don 3 row continues to unfold, all eyes are now on FWICE’s next move. Will they back down, or will the kangaroo court stand its ground? One thing is clear: Ranveer Singh still has heavyweights like RGV in his corner.
