Drishyam 3 Roars Back With a Massive Day 10 Jump
Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 is showing no signs of slowing down. The Jeethu Joseph-directed crime thriller pulled off a stunning 17.4% growth on Day 10, collecting Rs 5.05 crore in India. That’s quite the rebound after a slight dip earlier in the week.
With this, the film’s India net now stands at Rs 91.30 crore, while the India gross has hit Rs 105.94 crore. Overseas collections remain solid at Rs 113.75 crore, pushing the worldwide total to an impressive Rs 219.69 crore. Trade insiders say the franchise’s loyal fanbase and strong word of mouth are keeping the momentum alive even in a crowded release window.
Kattalan Loses Steam, Helps Drishyam 3 Regain Spotlight
Antony Varghese’s action drama Kattalan had a decent start but is now losing ground. On Day 2, it earned Rs 1.84 crore gross from 3,582 shows, but by Day 3 it dropped to Rs 1.49 crore gross across just 1,832 shows. Overall, Kattalan has managed worldwide gross earnings of Rs 6.21 crore so far.
Industry observers note that while Kattalan initially rode on the buzz of its connection to Marco, its slowdown has worked in Drishyam 3‘s favour. Audiences are returning to Georgekutty’s world, and repeat viewership is giving the film an extra push at the ticket counters.
Next Target: Thudarum’s All-Time Record
Drishyam 3 has already crossed Rs 200 crore worldwide in just seven days, making it the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. It has even surpassed the lifetime collection of 2018 (Rs 180 crore). Now, all eyes are on Thudarum‘s all-time record of Rs 235.25 crore.
Trade experts predict the film could stay in the Rs 5-6 crore range on Day 11, especially if weekend occupancy holds up. With franchise loyalty and emotional depth working in its favour, Drishyam 3 is primed for another solid run. Starring Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, and a stellar supporting cast, the third installment keeps proving that Georgekutty’s story is far from over.
