Ram Charan is gearing up for what he calls the most demanding role of his career. The RRR star will be seen in three distinct athletic avatars in the upcoming film Peddi—a cricketer, a runner, and a wrestler. And according to the actor, this was no easy feat.

Ram Charan Gets Candid About the Challenge

Speaking about his character, Ram Charan revealed that Peddi has been a deeply enriching journey that shaped him both as an actor and as a person. He shared that the role represents an unheard section of society, calling it the most challenging of his career. “I am very fortunate to be playing the character. We are representing a section of people who are unheard, who need the voice and need the recognition,” he said, adding that it feels necessary for a country like India.

For the actor, immersing himself in the role was both fascinating and difficult. He admitted that the film pushed him to grow significantly as a performer, helping him sharpen his craft to a level where he feels he has truly upped his game. The journey, he said, was satisfying not just as an actor but as a person as well.

A Transformative Journey: From Cricketer to Wrestler

Peddi follows the story of a crossover athlete—a character whose path mirrors real-life sporting greats who experimented with multiple sports before finding their true calling. Ram Charan’s transformation into these three different athletes is already generating buzz, with the trailer showcasing his physical and emotional range.

The film’s musical celebration in Bhopal on May 23 turned out to be a grand affair. The entire cast and crew came together on one stage, including Janhvi Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and director Buchi Babu Sana. Music legend A. R. Rahman also joined the celebration, adding to the star power.

All Set for a Grand Release

Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment, Peddi boasts a top-notch technical team. Along with Rahman’s music, the film features cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, production design by Avinash Kolla, and editing by Navin Nooli.

Mark your calendars, folks—Peddi will premiere across the world on June 3, 2026, followed by its theatrical release on June 4, 2026. In North India, the film will be distributed by Jio Studios. With such a massive buildup, this one is shaping up to be a must-watch for Ram Charan fans and sports drama lovers alike.
