Bobby Deol’s Candid Confession

Bobby Deol has never been one to shy away from the truth, and his recent appearance on the popular show Aap Ki Adalat proved just that. The actor opened up about a time when fame faded and he found himself struggling with alcohol addiction. In a heartfelt conversation with host Rajat Sharma, Bobby admitted that when film offers dried up, self-pity took over. He felt like his world had completely collapsed.

During this dark phase, Bobby revealed that his wife Tanya became the sole breadwinner of the family. She managed all household expenses and kept working while he remained largely inactive. The actor also shared that his father enjoyed drinking, which influenced his own habits—though he took full responsibility for his choices. What kept the family together, he said, was Tanya’s unwavering support. ‘My wife never left me, even when I gave up on myself,’ he confessed.

The Turning Point

Every rock bottom has a moment of clarity, and for Bobby, it came from his own children. He recalled how his kids started asking why their mother went to the office every day while their father stayed home. That innocent question hit him hard. It snapped him out of his stagnation and pushed him to make a firm decision to change his lifestyle.

Bobby also admitted to developing an expensive online shopping habit during that period. His wife would regularly present him with the bills the next morning, scolding him for unnecessary spending. But through all the scolds and threats, she never actually left. ‘She would threaten to leave me if I didn’t stop drinking, but she never did,’ Bobby said with a smile, acknowledging her strength.

Addressing Speculations and Looking Ahead

Rumours about trouble in Bobby and Tanya’s marriage have circulated for years, but the actor dismissed them outright. Without repeating the gossip, he simply stated that such talk feels like a joke to him. He credited women’s mental and emotional strength for holding families together, and made it clear that his wife never abandoned him even in his worst moments.

Today, Bobby Deol is enjoying a major career revival thanks to projects like Aashram, Animal, and The B**ds of Bollywood. He is now focusing on his upcoming film Bandar, directed by Anurag Kashyap. The movie also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, and Saba Azad. With renewed energy and a clear head, Bobby is ready to take on the silver screen once again—and this time, he’s not letting go.
