Jackky Bhagnani finally speaks up
Bollywood producer and actor Jackky Bhagnani has finally addressed the buzzing reports about a legal showdown between his father Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment and PVR INOX Pictures. Calling the circulating news completely off the mark, Jackky insisted that the actual equation between the two companies is far from what’s being painted online. Insiders say the young producer was dismayed at how quickly unverified chatter spiraled into what looked like a full-blown industry feud.
In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Pooja Entertainment pulled no punches. The production house wrote, “Over the decades, Pooja Entertainment has built a relationship with the media rooted in mutual respect, transparency, and a shared love for Indian cinema. We are incredibly grateful for the continuous support you have extended to our team throughout our journey.” The statement went on to slam the reports as “entirely inaccurate” and noted that PVR INOX Pictures had itself issued a formal clarification backing up their version of events.
What really happened between Pooja Entertainment and PVR INOX
Rumours had been flying thick and fast that PVR INOX Pictures was gearing up to drag Pooja Entertainment to court over a three-film distribution deal. The pact reportedly covered Akshay Kumar-starrers like Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Sources claimed that a refundable advance was part of the arrangement, leading to whispers about unpaid dues and impending legal action. But both sides have now put those whispers to rest.
PVR INOX Pictures stepped in with its own statement, calling the coverage “misleading and speculative” and reaffirming their strong, long-standing bond with the Bhagnani family. The clarification seems to have done the trick for now, with industry watchers noting that the speed of the denial was unusual for such a typically hush-hush business matter.
Meanwhile, a ₹400 crore legal battle looms
While the PVR INOX drama has been put on ice, Pooja Entertainment is still grappling with another legal headache. The production house has moved the Bombay High Court with a whopping ₹400 crore lawsuit against Tips Industries Limited, including its directors Ramesh Taurani and Kumar S. Taurani, as well as filmmaker David Dhawan. The case revolves around the music rights of David Dhawan’s upcoming comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. That film, which promises to be a laugh riot, is now caught in a tug-of-war over royalties and ownership.
For now, Jackky and his team are breathing a sigh of relief on the PVR INOX front, but the Tips battle is far from over. The Bhagnani camp has urged media houses and digital platforms to verify facts before publishing, warning that unchecked stories are hurting stakeholder confidence and the company’s hard-earned goodwill. As one insider put it, “In Bollywood, a rumour can spread faster than a box office report. But truth? That takes time.”
