FWICE revokes non-cooperation directive

Ranveer Singh can breathe easy now. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against the actor, bringing a major twist in the ongoing Don 3 saga. The decision, announced on June 3, comes days after the issue escalated into a legal battle and sparked widespread chatter across Bollywood.

FWICE president BN Tiwari confirmed the development during a media interaction, stating that requests from multiple film industry associations—including CINTAA and IMPPA—prompted the move. “The common opinion was that all concerned parties should sit together and work towards a practical solution that protects the interests of actors, producers and filmmakers alike,” Tiwari said. He emphasized that the matter should not be viewed as a victory or defeat for any side, but rather a step toward maintaining professional harmony.

Industry insiders reveal that several bodies played a key role in encouraging both sides to find common groundament. The directive was initially issued after allegations that Ranveer’s exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 caused financial losses of nearly Rs 45 crore during pre-production. However, the latest development signals a shift toward dialogue over confrontation.

Legal battle continues, but doors open for talks

While the non-cooperation directive has been lifted, the legal drama isn’t over yet. Sources close to the actor reveal that Ranveer had approached the court following the initial announcement, and FWICE confirmed receiving a legal notice from him. The federation’s legal team is currently examining the matter, with an official response expected through appropriate channels.

FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit clarified that the organization does not possess the authority to impose a formal “ban” on any artist. “We can only issue a non-cooperation directive to our members and cannot prevent any individual from continuing their professional work,” Pandit explained. He urged people to avoid using the term “ban,” saying it creates confusion about the federation’s actual powers. Pandit also acknowledged Ranveer’s contribution to the industry and expressed willingness to engage in constructive conversations.

Both sides appear open to resolving the issue through discussion, even as the legal process continues. A source close to the production reveals that talks are ongoing to find a middle ground that protects the interests of all parties involved.

What this means for Don 3 and Ranveer’s future

The lifting of the directive comes as a huge relief for Ranveer, who has been at the center of speculation since his reported exit from the highly anticipated Don 3. Industry watchers say the move could pave the way for smoother professional relationships moving forward. While there’s no official word on whether Ranveer will rejoin the project, insiders suggest that the door is now open for discussions.

Ranveer’s legal team is expected to respond formally once FWICE files its response in court. For now, the actor’s fans are celebrating the development as a win for dialogue over drama. As one industry insider puts it, “Bollywood is a small world, yaar. These things get sorted with time and chai.”
