Upasana Singh throws weight behind Ranveer

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) recently withdrew its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. The directive was issued after a complaint from the production team of ‘Don 3’, which claimed the actor’s sudden exit caused losses of around Rs 45 crore.

Now, CINTAA General Secretary and actress Upasana Singh has come out strongly in support of the actor. She revealed that she personally urged FWICE to reconsider its decision and lift the ban. Speaking at a press conference, Upasana made it clear that Ranveer’s contribution to the film industry cannot be ignored.

‘Dhurandhar’ saved the industry

Upasana pointed out that Ranveer’s back-to-back hits, ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, gave the struggling film industry a much-needed boost when several other films were failing at the box office. According to her, the two films created history with their business and proved that audiences still crave big-screen entertainment.

She went on to explain that a film’s success doesn’t just benefit the stars—it trickles down to every spot boy, cameraman, and crew member working behind the scenes. Upasana also shared a personal anecdote: her son has watched ‘Dhurandhar’ five times and still wants more, which she said speaks volumes about the film’s massive pull with audiences.

FWICE lifts ban after legal notice

For those who missed it, FWICE took back its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer after the actor struck back with a legal notice. The industry body had earlier issued the directive over his abrupt exit from ‘Don 3’, but Ranveer’s team challenged the claims and the ban was eventually withdrawn.

Upasana concluded her support with a heartfelt message: “Actors like Ranveer Singh are rare—they make films that people love. We need more such performers to keep the industry alive and thriving. Our best wishes are with him.” Fans have praised Upasana for standing up for the actor, and industry insiders say the controversy may finally be behind Ranveer Singh.
