Why Chahatt Khanna said no to Colors’ political drama

Chahatt Khanna, the actress known for her work in both Bollywood and television, has politely declined a lead antagonist role in an upcoming untitled political drama on Colors. Industry insiders reveal that the makers were keen to have her on board for the prime-time show, but the demanding shoot schedule became a dealbreaker.

Speaking about the decision, Chahatt shared that she was genuinely excited about the character. “The role offered to me was that of the lead antagonist, and it was definitely an interesting character. I was genuinely keen on taking it up, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to commit 25 days every month,” she explained. The actress requested a more manageable schedule of around 18 shooting days per month, but the production team couldn’t accommodate the change. “Eventually, I had to turn down the offer,” she added.

Television remains her roots despite the setback

While Chahatt has moved on from this particular project, she emphasises that television will always hold a special place in her heart. “Television will always be my roots, and I have immense respect and love for the medium. I would have been more than happy to be a part of the show if the schedules had aligned,” she said.

The actress-entrepreneur, who currently multitasks between her acting career and business ventures, is now exploring other formats of entertainment. “At the moment, though, I’m exploring different formats of entertainment and am particularly interested in reality shows,” she revealed.

Exciting new reality show on the horizon?

Chahatt also dropped a hint about a potential new project that has her fans buzzing. “I’m currently in discussions for an upcoming reality show on Amazon Prime Video. It’s still at a very early stage, so let’s see how things unfold. I’m looking forward to exploring new opportunities and formats as an artist,” she shared. While details remain under wraps, the news has already sparked excitement among her followers.
