Moss Praises Co-Star’s Professionalism
Carrie-Anne Moss is the latest high-profile name to shower praise on Hudson Williams, the breakout star of the hockey romance drama Heated Rivalry. At Bell Media’s upfront presentation in Toronto, the Matrix actress playfully revealed one of the highlights of filming their upcoming supernatural series Yaga. “I got to make out with him, so that’s lovely,” Moss joked, gesturing toward Williams on stage.
But it was her remarks about his conduct that really caught attention. Moss called the 25-year-old actor a “serious gentleman,” noting how respectful he was of her personal space during their intimate scenes. “He was super respectful. He was so respectful to my personal space,” she shared. The endorsement adds to the growing buzz around Williams, who has become one of Canada’s most sought-after young talents.
Yaga: A Modern Supernatural Twist
The upcoming drama Yaga is based on playwright Kat Sandler’s 2019 stage production and offers a fresh take on the Baba Yaga folklore. Moss plays Katherine, a university professor known for her romantic involvement with younger men. Williams steps into the role of Henry Park, the missing heir to a powerful fishing empire. The series also features Noah Reid as private investigator Rapp and Clark Backo as detective Carson.
Set in a small coastal town, Yaga blends mystery, supernatural elements, and psychological drama. Sandler serves as both writer and showrunner. The series is expected to debut in the United States on AMC+ later this year, after premiering on Crave in Canada. Moss hinted that audiences can expect plenty of on-screen chemistry when the show finally arrives.
Hudson Williams on the Rise
Williams has been enjoying a meteoric rise since Heated Rivalry became a breakout sensation in late 2025. He recently won Best Lead Performance in a Drama Series at the Canadian Screen Awards for his portrayal of Shane Hollander. The series itself took home 16 awards, including Best Drama Series. Fans won’t have to wait long for more: production on Season 2 of Heated Rivalry begins later this summer, with new episodes expected in spring 2027.
For now, Williams continues to earn admiration from industry veterans like Moss. With Yaga and a second season of his hit show on the horizon, the young actor’s star is only getting brighter.
