Don 3 drama: Poonam Dhillon reveals the inside story

Bollywood’s biggest casting controversy just got a major update. CINTAA President Poonam Dhillon has confirmed that the much-talked-about dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over ‘Don 3’ has been resolved in a positive manner. The industry veteran opened up exclusively to Variety India, saying the situation should never have escalated in the first place.

“We support Ranveer as he is a member of CINTAA,” Dhillon stated, adding that as an actor, he has every right to choose his projects. “He’s responsible and committed to his work, and we have seen his body of work.” The clarification comes after weeks of speculation about Ranveer’s alleged exit from the much-anticipated film.

Contrary to rumors of bad blood, Dhillon revealed that both Ranveer and Farhan share an “excellent relationship.” She emphasized, “Farhan Akhtar is also an actor. So our support is for him as well. We wouldn’t want any of our actors to face such issues. Problems can always be resolved.”

Ranveer’s father in touch with CINTAA

Dhillon disclosed that she had been in direct communication with Ranveer’s family during the highly publicized spat. “I spoke to Ranveer’s father at length and we have been corresponding on WhatsApp,” she said, adding that he thanked her for the association’s support. “He told me they had been interacting with Excel Entertainment and how close and fond he is of Farhan and the Excel team. There’s no animosity from his side.”

The controversy first erupted after reports suggested Ranveer had walked out of ‘Don 3′, leading to FWICE initially imposing a non-cooperation directive against the actor. However, that ban has now been withdrawn after IMPPA intervened. IMPPA President Abhay Shinha told ANI that FWICE had acted without consulting them. “We also requested them not to do this, please remove the ban. This is our IMPPA matter, the Producers’ Association’s matter, and we will sort it out,” Shinha explained. The federation ultimately held a press conference and withdrew the directive.

According to Dhillon, both sides are resolving the matter amicably without formal intervention from CINTAA. “Technically, he didn’t need our intervention. I’m glad the matter has been resolved in a positive manner,” she concluded.

Tom Holland on why he’s never hosted SNL

Across the globe, Spider-Man star Tom Holland has opened up about a personal challenge that’s kept him from hosting one of TV’s most iconic shows. In a candid chat on the ‘Good Hang’ podcast with SNL veteran Amy Poehler, Holland revealed that his dyslexia has been the reason he’s turned down multiple offers to host Saturday Night Live.

“I’m heavily dyslexic, which is one of the reasons why, and I’d love to talk to you today about it, actually. I’ve never done SNL,” he admitted. The actor explained that the show’s use of cue cards—which are changed rapidly during live sketches—terrifies him. “I’m just so petrified at the concept of trying to read something and they change. I can read fine but when I have to read out loud, it just becomes like a mental block, and I can freeze.”

Despite his fear, Holland praised the show’s concept, calling it “the idea of having fun and making a fool of yourself in such a creative way.” He also shared how he manages his dyslexia on film sets, revealing that he highlights scripts and learns lines ahead of time. “Like at the read-through, I will try and highlight everything and learn my lines ahead of time so that I am more skimming it than I am reading it.”

Kay Carter from The Dyslexia Association praised Holland’s openness, telling the BBC, “That kind of honesty really helps others feel seen and understood.” On the work front, Holland is set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ later this year.
