Ram Charan’s Peddi Hits Rs 100 Crore Milestone in India

Ram Charan’s latest period drama, Peddi, has stormed the box office, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in India within just three days. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film raked in Rs 8.41 crore net on Saturday from over 4,600 shows, taking its total India net collection to Rs 104.81 crore. The India gross now stands at an impressive Rs 124.42 crore.

While Saturday’s overall occupancy dipped slightly to 29.7%, down from Friday’s 32.8%, the film continues to draw massive crowds, especially in Telugu-speaking regions. The strong performance comes amid a crowded release calendar, making the feat all the more notable.

Strong Start with Paid Previews and Telugu Dominance

Peddi got off to a flying start with paid previews on June 3, which alone brought in Rs 18.50 crore net from just 847 shows, boasting a whopping 72% occupancy. The buzz carried over to the official opening day, where the film earned Rs 51 crore net from more than 12,000 shows with 45.5% occupancy. Friday saw a slight dip but still remained solid at Rs 26.90 crore net and 32.8% occupancy.

Unsurprisingly, the Telugu version is driving the bulk of the business. On Saturday, it contributed Rs 7.48 crore net from 2,218 shows, maintaining a healthy 47% occupancy. The Hindi version trailed with Rs 0.77 crore from 2,060 shows at 13% occupancy, while the Tamil version added Rs 0.11 crore from 268 shows at 20%. Even the Kannada version chipped in with Rs 0.05 crore from 100 shows at 18%.

City-Wise Occupancy and What’s Next

City-wise, the Telugu version saw strong morning occupancy at 33.62%. Visakhapatnam emerged as the hottest spot with 53%, followed by Kakinada and Mahbubnagar at 45% each. Chennai and Guntur recorded 42%, while Hyderabad remained a key market with 38% across 707 shows. Vijayawada saw 33%, Karimnagar 31%, and Bengaluru and Warangal logged 29%. Mumbai clocked 26%, NCR 14%, while Nizamabad dropped to just 10%. For the Hindi version, Pune led with 14% occupancy, followed by Bengaluru at 12%, while Surat and Hyderabad barely registered at 2%.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh, where Ram Charan plays a local who rallies his village through sports to stand up against a powerful rival. The film also features Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Shivarajkumar. With the Rs 100 crore club entry already secured, all eyes are now on how the film holds up through its second weekend.
