Ramayana Ropes in Hollywood’s Finest Action Choreographers

Bollywood is gearing up for one of its most ambitious projects ever. Nitesh Tiwari’s epic two-part saga Ramayana has already got fans buzzing with its star-studded cast featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. But the makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the film has a global scale. Industry sources reveal that internationally acclaimed stunt and action choreographers Terry Notary and Guy Norris have come on board to design the film’s large-scale action sequences.

Terry Notary is best known for his motion capture work in the Planet of the Apes franchise and his stunt coordination in The Avengers. Guy Norris, on the other hand, has wowed audiences with his work on Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and The Suicide Squad. Their involvement adds massive weight to the already sky-high expectations for Ramayana. The makers are mounting this as a global cinematic event, with the first part releasing a week before Diwali 2026 and the second in Diwali 2027.

Suriya’s Intense Makeover for Kavakara Karuppu Avatar

Down South, Suriya’s fantasy action entertainer Karuppu continues to dominate the box office, grossing over ₹300 crore worldwide. One of the most talked-about moments is his fierce appearance as Kavakara Karuppu in the climax. Now, the makers have dropped a behind-the-scenes video that gives a peek into the painstaking process behind this avatar.

The BTS footage shows Suriya undergoing an elaborate makeover with holy ash, facial makeup, traditional jewellery, and a rugged exterior to match the intimidating god. The makeup team—Minnal Moorthy, Selvam, and Muruganantham—have been credited for bringing the character to life. The video reveals just how intense the transformation was, leaving fans amazed at the dedication.

BTS Footage Shuts Down Body Double Rumours

After the film’s release, some social media users speculated that a body double was used for portions of the Kavakara Karuppu song and climax sequence. However, the newly released BTS video puts those rumours to rest. The footage clearly shows Suriya himself going through the entire process, right from makeup to performance. No stunt double needed.

Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, also stars Trisha, Indrans, Swasika, and others. The film has become Suriya’s highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu, crossing ₹150 crore in the state alone. With this BTS release, fans are appreciating the craft that went into making one of the year’s most memorable cinematic moments.
