Second Monday Collections Show a Dip
Chand Mera Dil’s theatrical run entered a new phase this week, with the romantic drama earning an estimated Rs. 90 lakh on its second Monday. The film saw a drop of around 25 to 27 per cent compared to its second Friday figures, and a decline of nearly 55 per cent from the previous Monday’s earnings. With these latest numbers, the total collection now stands at Rs. 24.10 crore nett in India.
While the pace has definitely slowed down, the movie is still pulling in audiences. Industry insiders say the film is managing to add to its kitty despite the week-on-week drop. Directed by Vivek Soni, the Lakshya and Ananya Panday starrer is expected to wrap up its second week with a total between Rs. 27 crore and Rs. 28 crore.
New Releases Bring Fresh Competition
But the real challenge is just around the corner. This weekend, several new films are hitting the big screen, including Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Bandar, and Peddi. These releases are likely to eat into Chand Mera Dil’s screen count and audience attention. The coming weeks will be crucial for the film’s longevity.
According to trade sources, maintaining collections in the third and fourth weeks will be key. Strong word of mouth and consistent audience support are needed if the film hopes to extend its run beyond the second week. The romantic comedy genre has had a tough time post-2020, with only a handful of films managing to strike gold at the box office.
Final Projections and Future Outlook
Based on current trends, Chand Mera Dil is expected to end its overall run with a lifetime collection of around Rs. 35 crore. While that’s a respectable number for a mid-budget romantic drama, it might not be enough to create a major impact. The film’s day-wise collections so far: Day 1: Rs. 2.75 crore, Day 2: Rs. 3.50 crore, Day 3: Rs. 4.25 crore, Day 4: Rs. 2.00 crore, Day 5: Rs. 1.75 crore, Day 6: Rs. 1.75 crore, Day 7: Rs. 2.25 crore, Day 8: Rs. 1.25 crore, Day 9: Rs. 1.75 crore, Day 10: Rs. 1.95 crore, Day 11: Rs. 0.90 crore (estimated). Total: Rs. 24.10 crore.
As the film enters another crucial phase, all eyes will be on whether Chand Mera Dil can hold its ground despite the new competition. Abhi toh dekhte hain kya hota hai!
