The MBA vs Acting Dilemma

Vedang Raina, who made his Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ and later starred alongside Alia Bhatt in ‘Jigra’, is now gearing up for Imtiaz Ali’s next, ‘Main Vaapas Aunga’. The film also stars Sharvari, Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah. But before all the glitz and glamour, Vedang was on a completely different path.

In an exclusive chat, the young actor revealed that he studied business in college but was always interested in science. He shared that he was about to pursue an MBA when ‘The Archies’ came his way. “I have faced a dilemma between what my heart says and what my mind says,” Vedang said, adding, “I find it crazy how life works.”

Insiders say Vedang’s decision to follow his passion instead of a traditional corporate career has paid off, but the actor admits it wasn’t an easy choice. “When this opportunity came by, I would be lying if I say I wasn’t the most excited about the film,” he confessed.

Dreaming of Imtiaz Ali

For any actor in Bollywood, working with Imtiaz Ali is a dream. Vedang is no different. “I’d be lying if I say no,” he said when asked if being part of an Imtiaz Ali film is a dream come true. “Any actor in this country would be lying if they said it’s not a dream come true to work in an Imtiaz Ali film.”

The actor revealed that the story of ‘Main Vaapas Aunga’ deeply moved him. “It’s a story that I cared enough to be a part of and care enough to feel like maybe I could do justice to it,” he shared. The film, set during Partition, sees Vedang playing a Sikh boy, a role he takes very seriously.

“I felt a sense of responsibility playing a Sikh boy during Partition and then being a part of his film,” he added. With Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah also in the cast, the film is already generating buzz.

What’s Next for Vedang

After impressing audiences with his performances in ‘The Archies’ and ‘Jigra’, Vedang is keen to explore diverse roles. Sources close to the actor reveal that he is carefully choosing his projects, focusing on stories that resonate with him.

“I want to do justice to every character I play,” Vedang said, hinting at more exciting announcements in the pipeline. For now, all eyes are on ‘Main Vaapas Aunga’, which promises to be another Imtiaz Ali masterpiece.

With his articulate and sensitive nature, Vedang Raina is proving that sometimes listening to your heart—even when it seems crazy—can lead to the most rewarding paths.
