Blast Sees a Sunday Surge
Arjun Sarja’s action entertainer Blast is having a solid second weekend at the box office. After a slight dip on Saturday, the film bounced back big time on Sunday, raking in Rs 4.35 crore net in India on day 11. That’s a solid 24.3 percent jump from the previous day’s Rs 3.50 crore, according to industry estimates.
The film’s India net collection now stands at approximately Rs 35.74 crore, with the India gross earnings hitting around Rs 41.10 crore. International markets have contributed nearly Rs 11.70 crore in gross collections, pushing the worldwide gross total past the Rs 52.80 crore mark. Not bad for a film that’s been running for over a week and a half.
Breaking it down by language, the Tamil version contributed Rs 3.92 crore on day 11, while the Telugu dubbed version added approximately Rs 43 lakhs. Overall occupancy for the Tamil version stood at 46.87 percent, with afternoon shows being the strongest at 55.08 percent occupancy. Evening and night shows also maintained stable numbers, keeping the momentum alive.
Second Weekend Performance
Blast completed its first week with a healthy Rs 25.78 crore in India net collections. The second week saw expected weekday drops, but the weekend brought a much-needed boost. Saturday collections reached Rs 3.50 crore, and Sunday’s earnings surged further, showing that the film still has some steam left.
Tamil Nadu remains the leading market for the film, with state-wise figures confirming its stronghold in the region. The coming weekdays will now be crucial to determine whether Blast can sustain its performance and continue climbing the box office ladder. Industry insiders are keeping a close watch on its weekday holds to gauge its long-term potential.
Karuppu Continues Strong Run in Fourth Week
Meanwhile, Suriya’s Karuppu is showing no signs of slowing down even in its fourth week. The film recorded another rise in earnings on day 24, collecting approximately Rs 1.75 crore net in India. That’s a 19 percent increase compared to day 23’s Rs 1.47 crore, according to estimates.
The film’s India net total has now reached around Rs 193.40 crore, with India gross collections standing at approximately Rs 223.54 crore. Globally, Karuppu has crossed the Rs 304 crore mark, making it one of the major performers at the box office this year. Its sustained momentum is a testament to strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewership.
With both Blast and Karuppu holding their own at the ticket windows, it’s a good time for Tamil cinema lovers. Whether Blast can match Karuppu‘s longevity remains to be seen, but for now, Arjun Sarja’s film is keeping the cash registers ringing.
