It’s a double dose of exciting news for streaming fans! While Vijay Varma has just wrapped shooting for his upcoming corporate drama Family Business with Anil Kapoor, Netflix has dropped the star cast for its next Korean thriller Paper Man. Both projects are generating serious anticipation, and we’ve got all the details right here.
Vijay Varma Wraps Family Business
Actor Vijay Varma has completed filming for the much-anticipated series Family Business, directed by Hansal Mehta. The show follows billionaire Jeh Davar (Anil Kapoor) who grooms ambitious tycoon Sid Mehta (Vijay Varma) to take over India’s largest conglomerate. Things take a dramatic turn when Sid is abruptly fired and launches a counter-offensive to reclaim power. A source close to the production revealed, “Vijay Varma has completed shooting for Family Business alongside Anil Kapoor and has started shooting for another unannounced project.” The series also features Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia, Tina Desai, Raima Sen, Dhruv Sehgal, Akash Khurana, Anant Nag, and Kanwaljit Singh. Co-created by Hansal Mehta and Niren Bhatt, with the script written by Bhatt along with Ankur Pathak and Nikhil Nair, Family Business is produced by Vikram Malhotra and is confirmed to stream on Netflix in 2026.
The Face-Off with Anil Kapoor
What has fans most excited is the clash between the two powerhouse actors. The source added, “It’s a gritty, high-stakes drama between Anil and Vijay’s characters which is going to be the centre of the narrative and the most exciting one to witness between the two powerhouses.” Mehta has previously described the show as an original story built around contrasting ideologies, dismissing comparisons to international series as “lazy.” Now that he’s wrapped Family Business, Varma has moved on to an unannounced project. His upcoming slate also includes the action thriller Antony, the Netflix anthology Lust Stories 3, and the second season of his period crime drama Matka King 2, where he plays 1960s gambling kingpin Brij Bhatti.
Paper Man Gets Its Lead Trio
Meanwhile, Netflix has confirmed the lead cast for its upcoming Korean thriller Paper Man, directed by Lee Il-hyung. Cho Jung-seok, known for hits like Hospital Playlist and Exit, will play the leading man Cha Myung-jo. Park Hae-soo, who shot to global fame with Squid Game, takes on the role of detective Oh Seung-eop, the First Deputy Director of the Anti-Counterfeiting Division at the Korea Mint. Claudia Kim, seen in The Dark Tower and Gyeongseong Creature, will play Ko Hye-seok, Myung-jo’s wife and an elite judge with her own issues. The series centers on Myung-jo, a quiet office worker at a firm that makes imitation character stickers. When he accidentally creates a counterfeit banknote that passes for the real thing, he gets sucked into the criminal underworld. With this stellar lineup, Paper Man is already creating buzz among K-drama lovers. No release date has been announced yet, but it’s definitely one to keep on your watchlist.
