Malti Chahar Joins The Biryani Debate

The internet is still buzzing over comedian Pranit More’s now-viral Rs 370 biryani crowdwork clip, and the latest to weigh in is actor-filmmaker Malti Chahar. The Bigg Boss 19 star, who was previously linked to Pranit during her time on the show, didn’t hold back as she shared her strong views on the controversy. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Malti drew a sharp parallel between the joke and the recent criticism around Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming sports drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana.

Malti wrote, “₹370 biryani and Peddi… make you realize why many women are hesitant about marriage, why we value our independence, and why we choose to split the bill. Some women are even financially supporting men entirely. Yet, we continue to be objectified, and a woman’s consent is apparently worth no more than a plate of biryani.” Her post has since gone viral, adding fuel to an already heated online discussion about gender dynamics, consent, and how women are portrayed both in real life and on screen.
