Akshay Kumar’s shocking fee revelation
At the grand trailer launch of Welcome To The Jungle in Mumbai, Akshay Kumar finally addressed the buzzing rumours about his salary. When a journalist asked if he had charged just Rs 1.8 crore for the film, the actor dropped a bombshell that left everyone stunned.
“To be honest, whoever told you that I’ve charged Rs 1.8 crores, maine utna bhi nahin liya. Mujhe utna bhi nahin mila!” Akshay said, clarifying that the reported figure was actually higher than what he received. The star’s candid admission sparked widespread chatter among fans and industry insiders alike.
Emotional tribute and nostalgia at the launch
The trailer launch event was transformed into a jungle-themed spectacle complete with a fake waterfall, but it was Akshay’s heartfelt words that truly stole the show. The actor opened up about his deep connection to the film’s writer, the late Neeraj Vora.
“For me, what is important is that the film is written by the late Neeraj Vora ji. I have learned a lot from three people in this industry – Priyadarshan ji, Rajkumar Santoshi ji and Neeraj Vora ji. Neeraj ji had a huge contribution to my career and in my learning comedy,” Akshay said, his voice filled with emotion.
The actor also revealed his long-standing bond with producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, whom he has known for 36 years since his struggling days. “I used to know him since my struggling days and even today, I continue to struggle! It was a struggle to get him to the event,” he joked, lightening the mood.
