Co-star sets the record straight
Bollywood has long whispered about Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s romance blossoming on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. But now, a co-star from the film has stepped forward to dismiss those claims entirely. Actor Vishwanath, who worked alongside the duo in the 2009 comedy, shared that there was nothing romantic brewing behind the scenes.
In a recent interview, Vishwanath revealed that the set was a highly professional environment under director Rajkumar Santoshi. He stated, “Nothing like that was happening on the set, sir. Rajkumar Santoshi ji was there, could anything happen in front of him?” The actor emphasized that everyone was focused on their work, with Santoshi keeping the cast deeply immersed in their characters.
Director’s disciplined approach
Vishwanath had nothing but praise for Santoshi’s leadership style, describing him as a “king” and a “lion” who commanded respect. He added, “Everyone on the set was extremely disciplined and obedient. Rajkumar Santoshi sir is the king; he’s like a lion. He keeps everyone so deeply immersed in the story and their characters.”
According to Vishwanath, Santoshi also pampered and took care of the cast, creating a unique balance of discipline and warmth. This environment, he suggested, left no room for any off-screen romance between Ranbir and Katrina, contrary to popular belief.
Katrina’s dedication praised
Beyond shutting down the romance rumors, Vishwanath also took the opportunity to laud Katrina Kaif’s work ethic. He called her “one of the hardest-working members” on set, praising her discipline, fitness, and dedication to the film. This aligns with the actress’s well-known reputation for professionalism in the industry.
Ranbir and Katrina, who were in a relationship for several years before parting ways, have often been the subject of speculation about when their romance began. While many assumed it was during Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Vishwanath’s account suggests their connection may have developed later, away from the watchful eye of Santoshi’s set.
