Andhra Pradesh Greenlights Premium Pricing and Premiere Shows
The wait for Ram Charan’s sports drama Peddi just got more exciting. With the film set to hit theatres on June 4, the Andhra Pradesh government has officially given the green light for special premiere shows on June 3. Tickets for these early screenings will be priced at Rs. 600, including GST — a move that’s bound to get fans queuing up.
But that’s not all. The state has also approved a temporary ticket price hike for the first ten days of the film’s run. Single-screen theatres can charge an extra Rs. 100 per ticket, while multiplexes can increase prices by Rs. 125. This kind of premium pricing is expected to give Peddi a massive boost at the box office right out of the gate.
Telangana’s Decision Still Pending After CM Meeting
Over in Telangana, things were a bit uncertain initially. The makers had withdrawn their petition from the High Court regarding ticket price hikes and special shows, leaving fans wondering what would happen. However, according to a latest report, the team later approached Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and received a positive response.
Industry sources suggest that Peddi is likely to get paid premiere shows on June 3, similar to Andhra Pradesh, with screenings expected to begin between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM. The makers have reportedly sought an additional Rs. 600 for premiere shows and Day 1 screenings. Regular ticket hikes for the following days are also anticipated, although the official government order is still awaited. Given the Nizam region’s importance for Ram Charan, these approvals could make a huge difference to the opening weekend numbers.
What to Expect From Peddi’s Grand Release
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, with a stellar supporting cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu Sharma, and Boman Irani. The sports drama follows the journey of a young man from rural Andhra Pradesh who rises as a crossover athlete competing in multiple sports.
With music composed by A.R. Rahman and massive expectations surrounding its release, Peddi is undoubtedly one of the biggest Telugu films of the year. With both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana expected to allow premium pricing and special shows, the film is set for a thunderous opening across the Telugu states. All eyes are now on the official Telangana order — and fans can’t wait.
