Aggarwal takes legal action against FWICE
Veteran producer T P Aggarwal has filed a petition in the Bombay Civil Court against FWICE and IMPPA after the federation issued a non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh. The directive came following a dispute between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment. Aggarwal, a former president of IMPPA and the Film Federation of India, isn’t happy with FWICE’s move and has decided to challenge it legally.
He stated that a previous judgment from the Competition Commission of India had already ruled that such bodies cannot take decisions like banning or issuing non-cooperation directives. “You want to make sure that the actor gets work anywhere. Aise toh aap sabki rozi roti khatam kar doge,” Aggarwal said, expressing his reservations about FWICE’s actions.
Planning a film with Ranveer Singh
The producer also revealed that he was planning a film and had been thinking of approaching Sanjay Dutt and Ranveer Singh. It was during this process that he learned about the non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh, which prompted him to approach the court. “I was planning to make a film and was thinking of talking to Sanjay Dutt and Ranveer Singh. This is when I learned about (the non-cooperation directive),” he explained.
This revelation adds a new layer to the ongoing drama. Fans are already excited at the possibility of seeing Ranveer Singh in a film backed by a veteran like Aggarwal. However, the legal battle might first need to be resolved before any formal announcements.
Aggarwal’s stance on the controversy
When asked if FWICE officials reached out after he filed the case, Aggarwal laughed and said, “Why should they contact me? They should have contacted me before they made this decision. After all, they know me well and they are aware that I am an ex-president of IMPPA. Agar woh gundagardi karke apni power dikhayenge, aise toh nahin chalega na? They cannot do that.”
As for whether he has spoken to Ranveer Singh about all this, Aggarwal clarified that his step was not taken for any publicity. “No, I didn’t. I have not taken this step so that Ranveer should come and talk to me. I don’t need that publicity,” he said firmly. The industry is now watching closely to see how this legal showdown unfolds and what it means for Ranveer Singh’s upcoming projects.
