Day 2 Box Office Jump
Imtiaz Ali’s latest directorial, ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah, has shown a solid uptick at the box office on its second day. According to trade reports, the film opened at Rs 1.15 crore on day one across 2,302 screens nationwide. On day two, it collected an estimated Rs 1.85 crore from 2,152 shows, marking a healthy 60.9% increase. With that, the India net collection stands at Rs 3 crore, while the gross has reached Rs 3.60 crore.
Beats Kangana Ranaut’s Film in Clash
‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ went head-to-head with Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’, which earned Rs 1.45 crore on its second day. The Diljit starrer managed to edge ahead, continuing its lead. The film also faced competition from Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Governor’, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, and the Hollywood release ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’. Despite the crowded marketplace, industry insiders note that the Partition-inspired drama has found its audience.
